Teresa Sławińska-Ochla are concentrated around human biology issues, especially around environmental modulators of morphofunctional development of children and the youth and the dynamics of involutional changes during maturity and the old age, the role of physical activity and physical fitness in maintaining health and the intergenerational changes in biological condition of the Polish population. From the beginning of her professional career she has been taking part in big population study projects: in the Third and Fourth “Anthropological Photo”projects, in longitudinal studies of Wrocław twins, in the cyclic monitoring of the morphological and functional development of the rural population from economically and ecologically diverse regions. She was a co-organiser of studies of the somatic development and the physical fitness of the young population from heavy metal polluted regions (the so called “Copper Region”), conducted by the Department of Biostructure at rural schools located near the Legnica, Głogów and Polkowice copper foundries. She is also a co-creator of the idea of testing the biological condition of the Lower Silesians after the age of sixty, considered in the wide context of lifestyle and life quality factors. Her scientific achievements include one hundred and twenty original articles. She has also presented her research results in the habilitation monograph and six joint authorship monographs on the issue of children’s and the youth’s development and the evaluation of involutional changes of chosen aspects of biological condition of elderly people.
